Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission - Stroke Rehabilitation

I've seen this a number of times from medical centers touting that they received this accreditation.  I could find no way to see what kind of stuff they look at in stroke rehabilitation to get a Gold Seal. My opinion is that no hospital should because I have never heard of a single survivor who received any decent information on how to rehabilitate. That may be a bit extreme but I'll throw the bomb anyway. and let someone prove me wrong.

I looked for sites that were certified in stroke rehabilitation in my area and the 2 places I went to were not listed. I have no idea what certification means.

  1. Humm. Not sure if the place I was at was listed but I think I got really good information and a whole lot better while at Barrow's Neurological Institute part of St. Joe's Phoenix...for me it was the place to be. I traveled from CA to have my surgery there and was glad when I started rehab they knew what they were doing. Overall...very good hospital experience!!
