Connectivity of prefrontal cortex predicts cognitive control and intelligence

This blogger brings up a good question that our stroke researchers should answer. Should stroke patients be objectively evaluated to see if they can cognitively handle the mental needs of stroke rehab?  Or should the first rehab process be to increase their cognitive control and intelligence? This is what John Ratey refers to in Spark, should kids use exercise to increase their cognitive ability first rather than just working with the base level they came to school with?
