This may be useful to us if our researchers ever figure out if lack of myelin causes problems in the aftermath of a stroke.

Scientists have successfully used neural stem cells to produce myelin, according to a report published in Science Translational Medicine. Researchers injected neural stem cells into the brains of 4 paediatric patients suffering from a fatal brain condition that inhibits myelin production. After 1 year of follow-up, researchers found that the stem cells successfully engrafted into the patient's brains and showed evidence of myelin production.
