Reducing fever after a stroke with acetoaminophen

Interesting idea, who is going to compare this to giving ibuprofen  immediately after a stroke?  I bet no one will thus leaving more neurons to die.

Giving acetoaminophen after a stroke lowers body temperature and this may improve the outcome.
Previous research has suggested that patients who develop a fever after stroke may suffer more brain damage. So it may be that reducing fever, with medication, could improve the outcome.

  1. I received a substantial amount of acetameniphen while in stroke ICU for headache and an aching lower back. I wonder if that had anything to do with my good overall outcome.
