Smarter People Tend To Drink More Alcohol

I'll have to tell all my friends that they are brilliant.
Besides these reasons:

Dark beer is good for you, in moderation

Can alcohol make men smarter? Study suggests yes

And of course The Buffalo Theory of Neurons.

But that brings up the question, Are you smart because you drank to kill the slower neurons?
Or do smarter people just rationalize this better?
