Mentally Strong People: The 13 Things They Avoid

I think this matches up with the resilience post here;

Understanding stress resilience

Is your doctor making sure you are being setup to be mentally strong?

Mentally Strong People: The 13 Things They Avoid

Details for each one are at the link. The stuff in red is my comments.
1.    Waste Time Feeling Sorry for Themselves. That energy could  be better spent planning your recovery.
2. Give Away Their Power.
3.    Shy Away from Change.
4. Waste Energy on Things They Can’t Control. I just had my luggage sent to the wrong airport, no big deal, just had to wait an extra hour to it to make it to the correct destination.
5. Worry About Pleasing Others.

6. Fear Taking Calculated Risks.This is perfectly exemplified by Scotts' post - Safety first and mine  - Safety last.
7. Dwell on the Past.  No sense in playing the what if game and you didn't have the stroke. Something I told my daughter a few times, 'Get over it'.
9. Resent Other People’s Success. Don't look at other stroke survivors successes and compare them to your own.
10. Give Up After Failure.  You may have to fail millions of times, 'Get used to it'.
11. Fear Alone Time.
12. Feel the World Owes Them Anything.

13. Expect Immediate Results.
