Novant plans focus on stroke in ’14 - Winston-Salem, NC

Instead of these feel good press releases it would be much more useful to find out how to stop the neuronal cascade of death, resulting in much less death and disability.

The goal is to teach people to more easily recognize stroke warning signs, which often come on suddenly, through a quick and easy acronym called F.A.S.T.:
F –  Face drooping
A – Arm weakness
S –  Speech difficulty

This is a good secondary goal but damn it all, challenge yourself to stopping the  neuronal cascade of death. With the pathetic efficacy of tPA(12%), getting there fast doesn't help that much.
