How Mouthwash Can Affect Stroke Risk

This is probably one of the few articles in NSAs' StrokeSmart magazine that I actually got some useful information out of. But it still didn't tell us about the disruption of nitrate production and how that affects the usefulness of nitric oxide. But baby steps.

A new study by Queen Mary University in London found that mouthwashes that use the active ingredient chlorhexidine can increase blood pressure. Chlorhexidine kills nitrite production in your body, which prevents blood vessels from dilating. It’s this process which can increase blood pressure.
