I too have an annual battle with our main path. It's weeding out invasive plants to make the path visible, nothing that requires more than a Japanese hoe. This year I decided it would be a Sunday project (of course, it's cold and rainy today, with guests coming to dinner, so I haven't been out there today) to make progress a few feet at a time; then maintenance would be removing anything new every time we take the path down to the lower yard. Simple, right? Until crab grass sprouting week. Wish me luck.
