Aristotle believes that there are three different kinds of friendship; that of utility, friendship of pleasure, and virtuous friendship.

I was at a discussion last night with two philosophy professors on Socrates, Plato and Aristotle. Aristotles' ideas on friendship were the most interesting. Post stroke I think I lost every utility and pleasure friends. The virtuous ones I retained, they were all college roommates from 37 years ago. We still get together quite often.
