A good day

Got in 12,000 steps  by noon, I was short by 9,000 steps for the week so I'm trying to catch up. Walked in a new natural area, mostly paved but  needed to be careful of the icy patches, the bumpy snow trails were great for strengthening the ankle. Saw a live performance of The Merry Widow opera performed by the Met streamed to a local theater. Never thought I would like opera but it was quite good, in English with subtitles.  Walked a lot more around the Apt. complex this evening. Total of 21,240 steps for the day -10.16 mile. Eventually I will lose the  extra weight I gained by all the social connections of dining and drinking. So far 10 lbs. down.

  1. I admire you for walking outside in cold weather. I'll walk a bit, but only after it warms up. Cold wind on my left side turns it into stone.

  2. Admirable way you stick with it and are tough w yourself when you've fallen short.

I got a Fitbit for Christmas, and then I set really conservative, gradually incrementing goals (yes, I was listening, Jenn) Starting w goal of 1k per day for January, 2k/day February, etc, with the goal of hitting 10k/day by December. January is going just fine, with a few days over 2k, even though it was overkill.
