Does High IQ Increase the Risk of Depression and Mental Disorders?

Maybe mine isn't high enough to have these problems. There is something to be said for being stroke-addled. I managed not getting straight A's in school so maybe I'm cool with not being bipolar.

Does High IQ Increase the Risk of Depression and Mental Disorders?

  1. As someone with superior intelligence, I have PTSD as a mental illness and some mild situational depression. Notice both are situational versus a true mental disorder. Yes, I'm calculating most of the time. I also believe that it also depends on your personality. I could see being a type A (driven) personality how you would be more prone to this. I'm decidedly not a type A personality.

I tend to be a "happy" person both inside and out.

  2. I have many, many, many times in my life wished I was dumb. Ignorance is bliss.
