Would you survive a stroke?

This is actually quite a stupid press release from the NSA. They forgot to mention that even if you get to a stroke center fast, maybe 10% of those eligible for tPA get it and it only works to completely reverse the stroke 12% of the time. That's like being proud that stroke interventions are a failure most of the time.

Dear Friend,
In the time it takes you to read this email, someone in the U.S. will likely experience a stroke. Unfortunately, far too many don’t survive because they didn’t know the warning signs and to call 9-1-1 right away.
Learn FAST to quickly recognize stroke signs and symptoms
But we can change that, with your help.
Register for our 2015 Act FAST for Stroke Challenge and help us save more lives from stroke.
Together, we can raise $50,000 before this May to reach the more than 100,000 people at risk of dying from stroke this year.
We need to act fast. Strokes can be prevented, but only if more people know about stroke and we can reach them before it’s too late.(F.A.S.T. is not prevention)
Start a team with family members, friends and co-workers, or participate on your own. With your help we will:
  • Increase awareness of life-saving stroke information
  • Impact survivor empowerment and stroke community quality of life
With National Stroke Awareness Month just around the corner, let’s work together to make a meaningful difference by saving more lives.
Register now and invite everyone you know.  There’s no time to waste.
With thanks,
