TPA treatment was no longer an option because three months had to pass before issuing a second treatment

I saw this in this article. If true you are basically screwed if your second stroke comes fast enough. What is your neurologists strategy to treat your second ischemic stroke if tPA is off the table? Is this one more nail in the coffin of tPA and to finally find something better?
