Lamar Odom Vows To Return To NBA, But How Likely Is It?

Very unlikely. His doctor should be telling him the very difficult road he will have to travel to even attempt a comeback.

Only 10% of stroke survivors get to almost a full recovery. And that has nothing to do with how good your doctors or therapists are. It almost totally depends on how small the strokes are and their location. The doctors have done nothing to stop the continuing death of neurons during the first week. Aka, the neuronal cascade of death.

  1. Poor guy has NO clue what's in store for him. But I'll be very curious to follow. He has all the money in the world at his disposal (Kardashian money) so let's see if anything useful is done with that money. Like hours of meditation lessons, hours of workouts a day with a trainer or private PT. Hours and hours and hours of whatever else.

  2. Don't forget former Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi - He had a stroke in 2005 - just after returning from the Pro-Bowl. Like Lamar, he had an endless source of money and access to the best medical attention. He returned to play for the Pats in 2006 after surgery to close a PFO. He credits a great PT and his never-give-up attitude for his recovery. I was treated at the same rehab center, but with drastically different results. He retired from football in 2009.
