Michael J.Fox Foundation exists for one reason: to eliminate Parkinson's disease in our lifetime.

Our stroke associations should have a similar goal.
'All stroke survivors will get to 100% recovery.'
This is doable if our fucking stroke associations would get the hell out of the way. If you don't believe it is possible then resign and let better people run stroke associations. The World Stroke Day should no longer exist in 5 years because we have solved all the problems in stroke.

At The Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF) we wish every day was "Back to the Future Day."
Last week more than 125,000 BTTF fans, including you, joined us. You tweeted, liked, signed up and donated all because you believe in our mission to speed a cure for Parkinson's disease, so thank you! Your support is felt by the entire MJFF community.
MJFF exists for one reason: to eliminate Parkinson's disease in our lifetime.
Our goal is to go out of business. We want Parkinson's disease gone, and fast.
As a new follower of the Foundation, we encourage you to stay involved and double your impact by forwarding this message to a friend to join our community. Together, we can achieve a future without Parkinson's.

  1. I just watched the 5 minute video about their approach & promise on the Fox Foundation website:

This should be a template for stroke associations to fix the problems of stroke prevention & rehab. I share your frustration that nothing like this is happening for stroke, which affects 13 times as many people as Parkinsons per your recent post.
