"patience as the story is still unfolding"

One of the quotes we talked about this past Halloween weekend. It applies to our stroke recovery.
A Muktananda quote; founder of the Siddha Yoga spiritual path
Question: How can we protect ourselves from the negativity and grossness that our living and working conditions may expose us to and at the same time see and love the Self behind it all ?
Answer:      . . . .  this is exactly how we should conduct ourselves in the world. All kinds of things happen in the outside world. We should watch them with witness-consciousness without being effected. our minds should always be focused on the Sahasrara. The world is full of change and inequality. If there is progress in one direction, there is decline in another. - - -    If you find people enjoying more individual freedom, you also find them losing their health. If you find wealth increasing in one nation, you also find morality declining. This is what goes on, and this is what always go on. There is really nothing in this world that should amuse you or make you sad. The world is nothing but a play, a sport. It would become monotonous if it stayed the same. It is constantly changing. A wise person realizes this truth and remains unaffected. Only if we lack discrimination, only if we do not think correctly about things do we fail to understand that in order for the drama of this world to go on there must be opposing forces. A single force could not sustain the drama. It was only because Rama was opposed by Ravana that we had the play of the Ramayana. It was because Duryodhana existed along with Bhishma and Yudhistira that we had the play of Mahabharata.
