Last summer I was denied donating blood due to high blood pressure, over 180. Got that taken care of with meds in January. Tried to donate again in March, denied since I had just done a heart catherization and didn't have results yet. Tried again yesterday, denied again due to low hemoglobin, 11.3 vs. needed 13. The only possible reason I can think of is that I have quite a few patches of poison ivy/oak/sumac that are still inflamed. None are still weeping but still itch a bit. Not having a usable left hand means I can't easily scratch my right arm.
I'm O negative so I'm popular being a universal donor. Only problem is I would need another O negative blood donation if I need some blood.
