HealthSouth hosts stroke recovery seminar - Peoria, IL

Do not be polite in the Q&A session. You need to hammer the presenters asking for detailed statistics on recovery; tPA full recovery, 30 day deaths, 100% recovery. Ask them what they are doing to solve all these fucking problems in stroke. If they don't leave the presentation asking what hit them you didn't ask hard enough questions or weren't incredulous enough at their non answers. Yes, I'm a real bastard, but we are talking neurons dying and no way to recover functionality. They are complicit in those failures.
If you have to go to this because you haven't completely recovered in one year that is complete failure on your doctor and hospital. Hammer them on that, why are they so fucking incompetent? NO EXCUSES ARE ALLOWED.

Designed for one-year stroke survivors
According to the American Stroke Association, stroke is the leading cause of serious, long-term disability and a third-leading cause of death in the United States. HealthSouth Valley of the Sun Rehabilitation Hospital, a provider of stroke inpatient rehabilitation services, will host a seminar on “Stroke Recovery after the Acute Phase” 5 to 8 p.m. Feb. 16 to educate stroke survivors who are one year or more post stroke on recovery options and services available to them. (Ask for efficacy of any intervention they suggest) The event will include presentations from Aleta Gong, a board-certified optometrist, who specializes in visual dysfunctions and patients requiring rehabilitative vision services; and Christopher Barnes, a board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physician, who treats patients with a variety of debilitating illnesses and injuries and serves as the director of brain injury and spinal cord injury programs at HealthSouth Valley of the Sun.
In addition, a light dinner and vendor fair highlighting services to improve function, increase independence and improve quality of life will be available. The event will be held in the hospital’s gymnasium, 13460 N. 67th Ave.
While the event is provided at no cost, an RSVP is requested by Feb. 8 and may be directed to Lori Ferguson at 623-334-5423, or lori.ferguson@healthsouth.com.
