Regeneron Science Talent Search (Regeneron STS) is the nation's most prestigious pre-college science competition. She figured out a way keep astrocytes using glutamate after a brain injury so glutamate poisoning doesn't keep killing neurons. Still just tested in mouse neurons so since we have NO stroke leadership or strategy this will never be followed up. Glutamate poisoning is one of the 5 causes of the neuronal cascade of death.
