11 years post stroke

It would be so fucking easy to completely recover physically if I could get rid of my spasticity. But Dr. William M. Landau poisoned the well of research with his blithering idiot ideas on spasticity. My opinion.

Spasticity After Stroke: Why Bother? Aug. 2004

But then nothing stops me from having fun and the time of my life right now. I'm doing the Hunter S. Thompson thing;
“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”

I'm going to have to retire soon, work is taking up too much time better spent socializing and writing eBooks.

  1. Dean,
    I am 4 years post stroke and spasticity, along with related central nerve pain is the problem. I actually have a lot of muscle strength back, movement sucks because of all the co-contraction and pain it is tiring and so inefficient to move, but I keep at it because I continue to improve.

    I stopped baclofen after 3+ years and glad I did since much more energy and do not miss the zombie side effects.

    I am still working on the "having fun" part, but life is getting better.

    Keep at it Dean!
