Bus ride from 9500 feet to the beach

To get from Quito to the Airbnb rental our friends had in the beach town of San Clemente we took a local bus, an 8 hour ride for $11. We had technical difficulties getting our phones data plans to work to contact our friend to meet us at the nearest town. Our solution was to call another friend in Minnesota to contact him via Hangouts to meet us in Bahía de Caráquez. Sitting next to the window on some of the downhill curves felt like we were going to tip over and all the people on the other side of the bus would land on me. Lots of times the driver would use both downhill lanes to make the curves.  It was cloudy and foggy so the views weren't very good.
