Stroke patients claim lack of rehabilitation therapy is putting recovery at risk

Wrong. It is lack of results from rehabilitation putting recovery at risk. Only 10% of stroke survivors almost fully recover. At least describe the problem correctly.

It is claimed stroke patients are having their recoveries put at risk because of a lack of rehabilitation therapy.

Steven Rix from Brigg

Steven Rix from Brigg had a stroke last year and only gets one 45 minute session per week.

The Stroke Association says he – and others like him – would recover quicker if they received sessions five days a week. James Webster reports.

The quality of care and survival rates for stroke are now at record highs. NHS England is rolling out new high tech stroke treatments and is working with professional organisations and others local health service leaders to improve rehabilitation care for everyone who suffers a stroke.

More strokes are preventable so we’re also backing further effort on managing risk factors.”
