You're a high functioning drunk

A comment from a friend who is an emergency room doctor. I took it as a compliment, meaning I handle my alcohol well.  As I need to because it lubricates my social outings which are going to prevent my descent into dementia. She should know, once her husband and I finished off an 8 liter box of wine in ten hours, luckily she brought a spaghetti dinner to us 8 hours in.  It was a great long lasting discussion on the world, the universe and our place in it.  This along with my great capacity to process coffee(12 cups daily) are what is going to prevent my dementia.  I need no interventions, I'm having the time of my life after living decades in quiet desperation in marriage.

Part of my Hunter S. Thompson journey;
“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”
