I Ran 8 Half Marathons. Then, at 38, I Had a Stroke

Notice how effectively the doctor disguised the complete lack of anything to get her back running. Used the nocebo effect to tell her she wouldn't run again.  That has got to be the best way to disguise such incompetence.  Instead of telling her that he was incompetent he tried to make it sound scientific.

“You’ll be lucky, even working hard and doing all the therapy, if you get to 65% of what you were pre-stroke,” he told me. The final blow: “You’ll most likely never run again.”
