The Remy/Chandler ditch maintenance obviously is continuing. A wheeled feller buncher was brought in to clear enough space on one bank for the large backhoe to work its' magic. The problem is that the feller buncher left quite a number of trees on the opposite bank where the trail runs. This means that the backhoe operator will likely push those trees over to clear the ditch but leaving them completely covering the existing trail.
The cutter/feller resting. The cab raises up when the 4 wheels are pulled inward to clear rough ground. It crossed the 5 foot ditch at an angle several times with no problem. |
The cutter/feller cleared the left side of the ditch to allow the backhoe space to work in. But likely the backhoe will push over the trees on the left side of the trail, creating a huge mess for me to clean up.
The trail running north, not many trees lining the bank here. |
Another section of trail I have to worry about trees getting pushed down over the trail. |
But I'll persevere.
