Hiking the Border Route Trail

This trail crosses the Arrowhead trail about two miles from our cabin, either direction the hike leads to beautiful overlooks. We hiked up to the overlook above John Lake, one mile, the first section was wet and slippery walking on planks and corduroy trails. At the very top the sign at the entrance to the Boundary Waters specified no hang gliding.  I did manage to fall once, bent the aluminum 3 section trekking pole, will never get it to collapse again.

went from the bottom loop to where the trail crosses the boundary line of the BWCA

Alex Falconer, he ran the 63 mile trail, not one of our crew. Notice the sign says no hang gliding.
