He received his M.D. as a Brody Scholar from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, and completed his Neurology Residency and Vascular Neurology Fellowship at the University of Virginia. He currently serves as Residency Program Director and Executive Vice Chair in the UVA Department of Neurology.
