While this would seem to make the most sense it actually is not very likely to help since only 10% fully recover. The true solution for future stroke survivors is to stop the neuronal cascade of death. That does leave existing survivors pretty much screwed and waiting for repeatable/proven neuroplasticity, neurogenesis and stem cell treatments.
