National Plan to Address Alzheimer's Disease: 2014 Update

A Brief History of the Drug War

In June 1971, President Nixon declared a “war on drugs.”

Or maybe we should end these 'wars'.

End the War on Disease

I would argue that none of these were successful or ever could be successful because there was no single driving force to push it. Groups or committees water down recommendations and never take responsibility for accomplishing the goals. You can never get a group to 'bet the farm' on any initiative.

Stroke doesn't have to worry about the group problem because there is no group even attempting to start a war on stroke. Everyone is sitting on their ass waiting for someone else to solve the problem.
