I blog on anything to do with stroke. DO NOT DO ANYTHING SUGGESTED HERE AS I AM NOT MEDICALLY TRAINED, YOUR DOCTOR IS, LISTEN TO THEM. BUT I BET THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET YOU 100% RECOVERED. I DON'T EITHER BUT HAVE PLENTY OF QUESTIONS FOR YOUR DOCTOR TO ANSWER.

What I wish I had been able to get post-stroke - finger massages
Spasticity for my left hand kicked in around 3-4 months. An OT once spent 15 minutes just pulling on and massaging my fingers like you would hand milk a cow. It was the best feeling and if I could have had that done daily I might have looser fingers today. Doing it by yourself has no where near the same results. Well, my ex made it quite clear I was on my own for therapy so I never asked her. Just recently a friend started massaging my hand like that, it's wonderful and hopefully not too late.
I suspect that massage is like tickling - you can't do it to yourself.
