May is Stroke Awareness Month, and Holy Spirit Hospital is holding two events to educate the public about the risks and signs of strokes.

The first will be held on Thursday, May 16 at Holy Spirit Hospital’s Auditorium, located at 503 North 21st Street in Camp Hill.

A presentation by neurologist Richard Paczynski will focus on stroke awareness, what puts someone at risk for a stroke, what to do if you or someone you know is having a stroke and why time is so important when someone is having a stroke.

The second event will be held on Monday, May 20th at Colonial Park Mall in the Food Court.

Maryann Brogden, Stroke Coordinator for Holy Spirit Hospital, will discuss how to prevent a stroke and what to do if you are having a stroke in a lecture at 9 a.m.

There will be people on hand to provide health screenings to include a cardiovascular risk assessment, blood pressure checks and a glucose and cholesterol check.
