So, 10 years of incompetence in not delivering recovery; ONLY 'CARE'!
This is the whole problem in stroke enumerated in one word; 'care'; NOT RECOVERY!
If your hospital is touting 'care' it means they are a failure because they are delivering 'care'; NOT RECOVERY! I would never go to a failed hospital!
YOU have to get involved and change this failure mindset of 'care' to 100% RECOVERY! Survivors want RECOVERY, NOT 'CARE'!
I see nothing here that states going for 100% recovery! You need to create EXACT PROTOCOLS FOR THAT!
ASK SURVIVORS WHAT THEY WANT, THEY'LL NEVER RESPOND 'CARE'! This tyranny of low expectations has to be completely rooted out of any stroke conversation! I wouldn't go there because of such incompetency as not having 100% recovery protocols!
RECOVERY IS THE ONLY GOAL IN STROKE!
GET THERE!'
Lake Regional Hospital Honored With National Stroke Care Award For 10th Straight Year
OSAGE BEACH, Mo. — Lake Regional Health System has once again been nationally recognized for excellence in stroke care(NOT RECOVERY!), marking its 10th consecutive year of earning honors.
The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines – Stroke Gold Plus quality achievement award recognizes hospitals that consistently follow the most current, research-based treatment protocols for stroke—ultimately improving survival rates, reducing long-term disability, and lowering readmissions.
“Continued recognition from the American Heart Association demonstrates that our community can count on us when it matters most,” said Nikki Church, R.N., Lake Regional’s stroke coordinator. “We equip our team with the training and tools they need to provide the best possible outcomes for our stroke patients, close to home.”
Stroke remains the fifth leading cause of death in the United States and is a major cause of disability. Timely response and standardized treatment protocols are essential in minimizing the damage caused by a stroke.
“Lake Regional is committed to improving care(NOT RECOVERY!) by adhering to the latest treatment guidelines and streamlining processes to ensure timely and proper care(NOT RECOVERY!) for strokes,” Church said. “Get With The Guidelines programs make it easier for our teams to put proven knowledge and guidelines to work on a daily basis, which helps us ensure more people in mid-Missouri experience longer, healthier lives.”
Additional National Recognition
In addition to the Gold Plus award, Lake Regional also received several other American Heart Association honors this year:
Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus: awarded for meeting standards that reduce the time from hospital arrival to administering clot-busting medication.
Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll: for achieving high compliance in cardiovascular care for patients with Type 2 diabetes over 12 consecutive months.
Get With The Guidelines – Rural Stroke Gold Award: recognizing hospitals serving rural populations with exceptional stroke care(NOT RECOVERY!), helping address health disparities between rural and urban communities.
Stroke Expertise in Mid-Missouri
Lake Regional is a state-designated Level II Stroke Center and holds both The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval and the American Stroke Association’s Heart-Check mark for Primary Stroke Certification. The hospital provides advanced stroke management, on-site neurologists, emergency care(NOT RECOVERY!), and rehabilitation services—allowing it to treat critical stroke patients and accept transfers from other hospitals.
