Changing stroke rehab and research worldwide now.Time is Brain! trillions and trillions of neurons that DIE each day because there are NO effective hyperacute therapies besides tPA(only 12% effective). I have 523 posts on hyperacute therapy, enough for researchers to spend decades proving them out. These are my personal ideas and blog on stroke rehabilitation and stroke research. Do not attempt any of these without checking with your medical provider. Unless you join me in agitating, when you need these therapies they won't be there.

What this blog is for:

My blog is not to help survivors recover, it is to have the 10 million yearly stroke survivors light fires underneath their doctors, stroke hospitals and stroke researchers to get stroke solved. 100% recovery. The stroke medical world is completely failing at that goal, they don't even have it as a goal. Shortly after getting out of the hospital and getting NO information on the process or protocols of stroke rehabilitation and recovery I started searching on the internet and found that no other survivor received useful information. This is an attempt to cover all stroke rehabilitation information that should be readily available to survivors so they can talk with informed knowledge to their medical staff. It lays out what needs to be done to get stroke survivors closer to 100% recovery. It's quite disgusting that this information is not available from every stroke association and doctors group.

Avera McKennan becomes only comprehensive stroke center in South Dakota

Is it comprehensive according to survivor standards? 100% recovery? NO? So it isn't a functioning stroke hospital then, is it?

Avera McKennan becomes only comprehensive stroke center in South Dakota

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Avera McKennan Hospital & University Center has been certified as one of only 306 comprehensive stroke centers in the country.

The three-year certification — awarded by DNV GL Healthcare — means Avera McKennan is equipped to address all aspects of stroke care, (NOT RECOVERY!)including diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation.

A comprehensive stroke center is a facility that has the personnel, infrastructure and expertise to diagnose and treat stroke patients who require intensive medical and surgical care, specialized tests or interventional therapies.

Avera Health

“Avera McKennan’s stroke protocols offer evidence-based approaches across the entire timeline of stroke diagnosis and treatment,” said Ronald Place, MD, regional president and CEO of Avera McKennan. “This elite certification reflects the extensive training and collaboration of Avera’s multidisciplinary team in performing exceptional care(NOT RECOVERY!) for patients suffering a stroke.”

Among Avera’s stroke care(NOT RECOVERY!) offerings are inpatient rehabilitation, a neuro unit for stroke recovery and minimally invasive neuro-endovascular procedures.

“This certification means that patients who experience an acute stroke or an acute vascular neurologic event, as well as their loved ones, can have the confidence that Avera McKennan is providing the region with the top level of sophistication and care(NOT RECOVERY!) for all forms of acute stroke management,(NOT RECOVERY!)” said William Rossing, MD, Avera Medical Group neurologist and stroke specialist.
