Changing stroke rehab and research worldwide now.Time is Brain! trillions and trillions of neurons that DIE each day because there are NO effective hyperacute therapies besides tPA(only 12% effective). I have 523 posts on hyperacute therapy, enough for researchers to spend decades proving them out. These are my personal ideas and blog on stroke rehabilitation and stroke research. Do not attempt any of these without checking with your medical provider. Unless you join me in agitating, when you need these therapies they won't be there.

What this blog is for:

My blog is not to help survivors recover, it is to have the 10 million yearly stroke survivors light fires underneath their doctors, stroke hospitals and stroke researchers to get stroke solved. 100% recovery. The stroke medical world is completely failing at that goal, they don't even have it as a goal. Shortly after getting out of the hospital and getting NO information on the process or protocols of stroke rehabilitation and recovery I started searching on the internet and found that no other survivor received useful information. This is an attempt to cover all stroke rehabilitation information that should be readily available to survivors so they can talk with informed knowledge to their medical staff. It lays out what needs to be done to get stroke survivors closer to 100% recovery. It's quite disgusting that this information is not available from every stroke association and doctors group.

Chapter 14 - Augmented reality rehabilitation for stroke

How long before your competent? doctor and hospital gets this into rehab for stroke survivors? Oh, they don't even know about it? When will the board of directors reconstitute the whole hospital and install some competent persons in there?  Your board of directors is incompetent also?

Abstract

Augmented reality (AR) overlays virtual objects in the real world, allowing users to interact with physical and virtual elements simultaneously, which is different from virtual reality technology, creating an entirely immersive digital environment. The advantages of the AR-based rehabilitation systems for stroke training include providing the training with limited assistance from therapists, real-time human body tracking, and motor guidance with visual feedback. Based on these advantages of AR technique, a low-cost and easy-set-up home-based AR rehabilitation training system for the elderly with disabilities or stroke survivors was developed by a team in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and used among Hong Kong citizens during COVID-19. More than 45 exercises covering the upper limb, lower limb, coordination, and balance training were designed by experienced physical therapists, and occupational therapists are incorporated into the system as a training protocol. In addition, the personalized report, including angles of joint movement, the positions of the center of mass, reaching distance etc., was provided. In sum, the home-based AR rehabilitation system showed accessible, effective, and influential impacts for persons with stroke during rehabilitation with clinical data from evidence-based studies.
