These come to you via the StrokeNation youTube channel. I like the fact that they have 14 exercises using a cane, and 3 with a Hula hoop. But you know the drill, nothing on your own unless your doctor/therapist approves. You know how dangerous that cane is - it might turn into a snake(1)(2) or a sword cane(3) or gun(3) or self-defense(4)(5)

God ordered Musa to throw his cane onto the ground. As a sign to Musa
from God the cane was transformed into a snake. Musa became scared, but
God ordered Musa to pick it up, as it would change back to its original
form.

And Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh and before his servants, and
it became a serpent. But Pharaoh also called the wise men and the
sorcerers; so the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with
their enchantments (Exodus 7:10-11).
The magicians of Egypt in modern times have long been celebrated adepts
in charming serpents; and particularly by pressing the nape of the neck
they throw them into a kind of catalepsy, which renders them stiff and
immoveable, thus seeming to change them into a rod. They conceal the
serpent about their person, and by acts of legerdemain produce it from
their dress, stiff and straight as a rod. Just the same trick was played
off by their ancient predecessors.... [A]nd so it appears they
succeeded by their “enchantments” in practicing an illusion on the
senses (2002, 1:295, Exodus 7:11-14).

The best known such hybrid weapon is the sword cane, still made and used for personal defense.
Rifle canes were impractical in the days of matchlock ignition, but with
the invention of mechanical locks, it was possible to design one that
worked. There surely are a few wheel-lock examples in museums, and rifle
canes were made on a custom basis in the flintlock era. The invention
of the percussion cap and a more easily concealed firing mechanism made
rifle canes really practical weapons.
4. Cane as a Weapon is a book by Andrew Chase Cunningham presenting a concise system of self defense making use of a walking stick or umbrella.
5. Cane Fighting: what cane to buy for self defense with a cane
Boomers are getting older but though most feel
very in-control of their lives, some have just a wee bit of edginess
about self defence. Therefore many are very interested in cane fighting
and self defense with a cane. I have been teaching self defence with the
cane to seniors and women for over 12 years and one of the most common
questions I have been asked is, “What is the best cane to buy for self
defense?”
Use the labels in the right column to find what you want. Or you can go thru them one by one, there are only 28,983 posts. Searching is done in the search box in upper left corner. I blog on anything to do with stroke.DO NOT DO ANYTHING SUGGESTED HERE AS I AM NOT MEDICALLY TRAINED, YOUR DOCTOR IS, LISTEN TO THEM. BUT I BET THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET YOU 100% RECOVERED. I DON'T EITHER, BUT HAVE PLENTY OF QUESTIONS FOR YOUR DOCTOR TO ANSWER.
Changing stroke rehab and research worldwide now.Time is Brain! trillions and trillions of neurons that DIE each day because there are NO effective hyperacute therapies besides tPA(only 12% effective). I have 523 posts on hyperacute therapy, enough for researchers to spend decades proving them out. These are my personal ideas and blog on stroke rehabilitation and stroke research. Do not attempt any of these without checking with your medical provider. Unless you join me in agitating, when you need these therapies they won't be there.
What this blog is for:
My blog is not to help survivors recover, it is to have the 10 million yearly stroke survivors light fires underneath their doctors, stroke hospitals and stroke researchers to get stroke solved. 100% recovery. The stroke medical world is completely failing at that goal, they don't even have it as a goal. Shortly after getting out of the hospital and getting NO information on the process or protocols of stroke rehabilitation and recovery I started searching on the internet and found that no other survivor received useful information. This is an attempt to cover all stroke rehabilitation information that should be readily available to survivors so they can talk with informed knowledge to their medical staff. It lays out what needs to be done to get stroke survivors closer to 100% recovery. It's quite disgusting that this information is not available from every stroke association and doctors group.
