Changing stroke rehab and research worldwide now.Time is Brain! trillions and trillions of neurons that DIE each day because there are NO effective hyperacute therapies besides tPA(only 12% effective). I have 523 posts on hyperacute therapy, enough for researchers to spend decades proving them out. These are my personal ideas and blog on stroke rehabilitation and stroke research. Do not attempt any of these without checking with your medical provider. Unless you join me in agitating, when you need these therapies they won't be there.

What this blog is for:

My blog is not to help survivors recover, it is to have the 10 million yearly stroke survivors light fires underneath their doctors, stroke hospitals and stroke researchers to get stroke solved. 100% recovery. The stroke medical world is completely failing at that goal, they don't even have it as a goal. Shortly after getting out of the hospital and getting NO information on the process or protocols of stroke rehabilitation and recovery I started searching on the internet and found that no other survivor received useful information. This is an attempt to cover all stroke rehabilitation information that should be readily available to survivors so they can talk with informed knowledge to their medical staff. It lays out what needs to be done to get stroke survivors closer to 100% recovery. It's quite disgusting that this information is not available from every stroke association and doctors group.

St. Bernards receives certification for advanced stroke care

This is the whole problem in stroke enumerated in one word; 'care'; NOT RECOVERY!

If your hospital is touting 'care' it means they are a failure because they are delivering 'care'; NOT RECOVERY! I would never go to a failed hospital!

YOU have to get involved and change this failure mindset of 'care' to 100% RECOVERY! Survivors want RECOVERY, NOT 'CARE'!

I see nothing here that states going for 100% recovery! You need to create EXACT PROTOCOLS FOR THAT!

ASK SURVIVORS WHAT THEY WANT, THEY'LL NEVER RESPOND 'CARE'! This tyranny of low expectations has to be completely rooted out of any stroke conversation! I wouldn't go there because of such incompetency as not having 100% recovery protocols!

RECOVERY IS THE ONLY GOAL IN STROKE!

GET THERE!'

St. Bernards receives certification for advanced stroke care

By St. Bernards Medical Center>Contributed
July 8, 2025 12:05 pm Jonesboro, AR — (Contributed) — July 8, 2025 — St. Bernards Medical Center has earned a prestigious certification from the nation’s largest medical accrediting body, The Joint Commission, as an “Advanced Primary Stroke Center.”This new certification, the Gold Seal of Approval, represents the highest recognition for St. Bernards to provide unique and specialized stroke care(NOT RECOVERY!) that fosters better health outcomes. St. Bernards stroke medical director Ahmad Salameh, M.D., said certification starts with the team approach employed at the hospital. “We craft a coordinated response the moment patients arrive or we receive word they are coming with stroke symptoms,” Dr. Salameh said. “Seconds matter in stroke care(NOT RECOVERY!), but that care(NOT RECOVERY!) must also address each patient’s needs. Our teams here do both.” (WHICH MEANS YOU'RE A FUCKING FAILURE AT 100% RECOVERY! No reason to go there if you can't provide 100% recovery!)According to CDC data, stroke (cerebrovascular disease) is the fourth-leading cause of death across the U.S. each year, with about one in five persons dying after suffering a stroke. Nearly 800,000 people in the U.S. will experience a stroke this year, with the medical emergency creating a leading cause of serious, long-term disability. The Joint Commission, in collaboration with the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, recognizes that quick action by individuals, first responders and hospitals can help prevent lasting effects from death or stroke. In response, the organizations created the Primary Stroke Center Certification Program in 2003, encouraging and helping healthcare providers to follow best practices for stroke care(NOT RECOVERY!).

Ken Grubbs, DNP, MBA, RN, executive vice president of accreditation and certification operations for The Joint Commission, said the Advanced Primary Stroke Center Certification recognizes excellence and improvement in patient safety and quality of care(NOT RECOVERY!).

“We commend St. Bernards for using The Joint Commission certification process to drive safer, higher quality and more compassionate care(NOT RECOVERY!) for individuals served,” Grubbs said.

To receive approval, St. Bernards underwent a rigorous, unannounced, onsite review on May 17, 2025. This review included more than 20 areas of focus, such as the Emergency Department’s response, imaging capabilities, the stroke unit and the ICU.

Nancy Brown, CEO for the American Stroke Association, called St. Bernards’ certification an outstanding achievement. This certification reflects St. Bernards’ commitment to providing the highest quality of care(NOT RECOVERY!) for stroke patients,” Brown said.

This year, the Arkansas Department of Health recognized St. Bernards Medical Center’s Emergency Department for a record-setting emergency stroke response time of 18 minutes. This recognition measured the time from patient arrival to completed CT imaging to administration of clot-busting medication, known as thrombolytic therapy.
