Not long enough, you don't even tell us how many of your patients got to 100% recovery. As such, I consider your unit a failure for not even having the proper goal for stroke survivors. Your tyranny of low expectations is appalling.
New Caernarfon stroke unit ‘goes long way’ to helping patients
The new stroke rehab unit is open to patients at Ysbyty Eryri in Caernarfon and Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board hope that it will aid the recovery of stroke patients. (NOT GOOD ENOUGH! Survivors want 100% recovery. GET THERE!)
It is one of three new rehabilitation centres across North Wales.
The unit has been praised by Arfon MS Siân Gwenllian, who visited the facility.
“This unit’s comprehensive treatment is important. It gives patients a proper chance of recovery. (NOT GOOD ENOUGH! Survivors want 100% recovery. GET THERE!)
“There is a great focus on the long term rehabilitation, strengthened by a host of medical professionals from different fields.
“I had the opportunity to meet one individual in particular - Peter Perkins of Amlwch was clearly emotional as he gave an account of the importance of this facility, and how grateful he was of their care.“
The consultant therapist-lead unit’s holistic approach to recovery is assisted by a range of multidisciplinary specialists, including physiotherapists, nurses, doctors, psychologists, speech and language therapists, dieticians and occupational therapists, will give patients a higher chance of recovery.
Ms Gwenllian added: “It gives people who have been through a traumatising experience hope for recovery and a new start.
“This new facility in the town of Caernarfon goes a long way in helping stroke patients regain their independence and confidence.
“I wish to thank the health board and all the staff involved in this initiative for making a real difference to the lives of people in our area.”
