Bedridden with nothing to do, is how it turns out when you’re down with a broken leg. The most affected by this is the ability to walk and the best you can manage to walk then is with the assistance of the crutches. To address the issue of inconvenience that the individuals confront, FWD Mobility has revealed the
Freedom Leg. As the name very clearly states, this very prosthetic-like leg can be strapped to the thigh of the injured leg, letting the ailing person to walk more independently without the crutches of course. The Freedom leg is more like a leg mounted crutch which has angled composite bars on the sides. These bars function as the leg itself, taking on them the entire body weight. The bars are joined from the bottom; the bridge that joins acts as the foot letting the person walk freely using both his hands for other chores, which were previously occupied in holding the crutches. Made in lightweight composite material the Freedom leg weighs only 2.5 pounds, frankly speaking that isn’t much weight addition to the injured leg, and is therefore easy to use and comfortable. In addition to being an aid to walk, the Freedom Leg also keeps the upper leg muscles toned, therefore with its use the user can to an extent be spared of the rigorous rehabilitation process when the broken leg is fixed. Freedom Leg isn't yet available, but it is expected to cost $350 when released, sounds relatively high, but I thinks its work the utility.
