Changing stroke rehab and research worldwide now.Time is Brain! trillions and trillions of neurons that DIE each day because there are NO effective hyperacute therapies besides tPA(only 12% effective). I have 523 posts on hyperacute therapy, enough for researchers to spend decades proving them out. These are my personal ideas and blog on stroke rehabilitation and stroke research. Do not attempt any of these without checking with your medical provider. Unless you join me in agitating, when you need these therapies they won't be there.

What this blog is for:

My blog is not to help survivors recover, it is to have the 10 million yearly stroke survivors light fires underneath their doctors, stroke hospitals and stroke researchers to get stroke solved. 100% recovery. The stroke medical world is completely failing at that goal, they don't even have it as a goal. Shortly after getting out of the hospital and getting NO information on the process or protocols of stroke rehabilitation and recovery I started searching on the internet and found that no other survivor received useful information. This is an attempt to cover all stroke rehabilitation information that should be readily available to survivors so they can talk with informed knowledge to their medical staff. It lays out what needs to be done to get stroke survivors closer to 100% recovery. It's quite disgusting that this information is not available from every stroke association and doctors group.

Trinity women's seminar on heart disease, diabetes and stroke - Quad Cities

Don't let them give you the generic eat healthy, exercise, blood pressure reduction, take care of cholesterol blather. Ask why they don't give you specific risk reduction steps like these 11 referenced and specific ideas.
And why don't they tell you about the 50% reduction of a marijuana bud a day?
Then you need to redirect the discussion to exactly what they are doing to prevent the neuronal cascade of death in the first week. My 30 actions in the immediate aftermath of my next stroke.
You have to put them on the spot and prove to them they know nothing about stroke prevention and rehab.

Press release submitted by UnityPoint Health Trinity

UnityPoint Health -- Trinity to host women's seminar on minimizing risks of heart disease, diabetes and stroke

UnityPoint Health – Trinity will host "Recipes for a Healthy Lifestyle: Wholehearted Health," from 6-7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 6, at Trinity Rock Island in conference room 1. More than one-third of Americans have metabolic syndrome, a group of symptoms -- high blood sugar, high blood pressure, a large waist size (central obesity) or abnormal blood fat levels -- that increases the risk of developing heart disease, diabetes and stroke. The seminar will address common risk factors as well as what participants can do to reduce them.

During the seminar Trinity's Corporate Chef Tyler Roux will prepare heart-healthy food and Trinity Dietitian Jeni Tackett will discuss how to eat for a healthy heart. Dr. Sanjeev Puri, cardiologist with Cardiovascular Medicine, P.C., Illinois, will present current information on diagnosis of and treatment options for heart disease.

Cost is $5 per person or free to Spirit of Women members. Call (309) 779-2067 to register or visit www.unitypoint.org/spirit.
