Changing stroke rehab and research worldwide now.Time is Brain! trillions and trillions of neurons that DIE each day because there are NO effective hyperacute therapies besides tPA(only 12% effective). I have 523 posts on hyperacute therapy, enough for researchers to spend decades proving them out. These are my personal ideas and blog on stroke rehabilitation and stroke research. Do not attempt any of these without checking with your medical provider. Unless you join me in agitating, when you need these therapies they won't be there.

What this blog is for:

My blog is not to help survivors recover, it is to have the 10 million yearly stroke survivors light fires underneath their doctors, stroke hospitals and stroke researchers to get stroke solved. 100% recovery. The stroke medical world is completely failing at that goal, they don't even have it as a goal. Shortly after getting out of the hospital and getting NO information on the process or protocols of stroke rehabilitation and recovery I started searching on the internet and found that no other survivor received useful information. This is an attempt to cover all stroke rehabilitation information that should be readily available to survivors so they can talk with informed knowledge to their medical staff. It lays out what needs to be done to get stroke survivors closer to 100% recovery. It's quite disgusting that this information is not available from every stroke association and doctors group.

Study of the Change of Neuropsychiatric Personality and Quality of life in Chronic Stroke Patient

Oh well, more useless research looking at secondary problems because you never solved the primary problem of 100% recovery.

Abstract:

The objective of this study was to investigate changes in neuropsychiatric personality and quality of life in chronic stroke patients. The study, which included 35 patients, was conducted during 10 weeks from November 2014 to January 2015, in a C and N rehabilitation of a hospital located in Daegu. A simple questionnaire was used to record changes in personality. Also used were the Neuropsychiatric Inventory Questionnaire (NPI-Q) and the Korea version of the World Health Organization Quality of Life assessment instrument (KWHOQOL-BREF). Results revealed that disinhibition was found in men more than in women. Anxiety was the most prevalent in an age group of 45 to 64 years, and lability was found the most in an age group of 45 years or younger. Delusional onset appeared most often from 4 years to 5 years 11 months and onset of apathy/indifference appeared most often from 2 years to 3 years 11 months. Anxiety was shown most often in a rehabilitation treatment group. Regarding quality of life, men showed lower results than women, and results in a group aged 45 years or younger were lower than others. Comparing types of rehabilitation treatment groups, a self-exercise group had the highest results. In conclusion, family members or their caregivers should take into account these neuropsychiatric personality traits for patients with chronic stroke who prepare for rehabilitation and a return to community life.
