Changing stroke rehab and research worldwide now.Time is Brain! trillions and trillions of neurons that DIE each day because there are NO effective hyperacute therapies besides tPA(only 12% effective). I have 523 posts on hyperacute therapy, enough for researchers to spend decades proving them out. These are my personal ideas and blog on stroke rehabilitation and stroke research. Do not attempt any of these without checking with your medical provider. Unless you join me in agitating, when you need these therapies they won't be there.

What this blog is for:

My blog is not to help survivors recover, it is to have the 10 million yearly stroke survivors light fires underneath their doctors, stroke hospitals and stroke researchers to get stroke solved. 100% recovery. The stroke medical world is completely failing at that goal, they don't even have it as a goal. Shortly after getting out of the hospital and getting NO information on the process or protocols of stroke rehabilitation and recovery I started searching on the internet and found that no other survivor received useful information. This is an attempt to cover all stroke rehabilitation information that should be readily available to survivors so they can talk with informed knowledge to their medical staff. It lays out what needs to be done to get stroke survivors closer to 100% recovery. It's quite disgusting that this information is not available from every stroke association and doctors group.

June 23, the U.S. celebrates National Hydration Day.

Well I can't do it today. A water main broke and we are under a boil advisory for a couple of days. But not to worry, tonight was our weekly wine tasting Zoom meeting, so I'm staying well hydrated.

For reference, a standard drink—12 ounces of beer, 5 ounces of wine, 1.5 ounces of liquor—has 14 grams of alcohol, according to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism [3]. In other words, the alcohol alone in one standard drink can make your body produce a little less than half a cup of pee

So to calculate; a standard 5 ounce glass of wine produces less than 4 ounces of pee. That doesn't sound like dehydration.  Beer would make even better sense.

June 23, the U.S. celebrates National Hydration Day

Every June 23, the U.S. celebrates National Hydration Day. Cardiometabolic Health Congress (CMHC) knows that proper hydration is vital to living a healthy life, but it’s often overlooked by patients. Some common symptoms of dehydration can be confused with cardiometabolic conditions or medication side effects. Dry mouth, muscle cramps, excessive thirst, rapid heartbeat, and headache are all common signs that the body needs hydration - but shouldn't be confused with more serious problems.

Whether your patients are professional athletes, casual exercisers, people who enjoy spending time in the sun, or just in need of a friendly reminder, make sure to point out that drinking water is key to avoiding heat stroke, dehydration, and other dangerous complications this summer. Celebrating National Hydration Day is a great way to raise awareness!
