Congratulations, we have statistical stupidity around the world. Now all of you within distance of this center need to call them up and ask a couple of simple questions. Stroke Improvement National Audit Programme is worthless without answering these questions.
1. What is your 30-day death rate compared to the national average?
2. What exactly are the stroke protocols you are using to stop the neuronal cascade of death?
3. How many survivors get to 100% recovery? Anywhere from 6 months to 10 years after?

Epsom Hospital is in the top 25% of hospitals in the country when it comes to stroke care, according to a new report.
The latest Stroke Improvement National Audit Programme (SINAP) looks at
care for patients admitted between July and September 2012.
The document, published by the Royal College of Physicians, features results for a number of indicators.
For example, it shows that 100% of patients received a brain scan within 24 hours of their arrival at Epsom Hospital. (So, what does that prove?)
The national average was 92%.
The report also shows that 67% of patients received a brain scan within
an hour at Epsom Hospital, compared to a national average of 40%.
(So, what does that prove?)
In addition, the report shows that 86% of all patients with a stroke
diagnosis were admitted directly to the stroke unit at Epsom Hospital.
(So, what does that prove?)
The national average was 68%.
The report placed Epsom Hospital in the first quartile – the top 25% – of hospitals in the country for its results. (Doing processes well does not mean your results are good)
Dr Brendan Affley, a stroke consultant at the hospital, said: “Sadly, a
stroke can be absolutely devastating, but with timely, expert
treatment, the impact can be reduced and patients are more likely to
make a better recovery.
“We are therefore delighted with the results of this new report, which
shows that our patients receive the care that they need, quickly.
“The team are incredibly proud to see that we’re in the top 25% of
stroke services nationwide, and pleased to be able to offer local people
the very best in stroke care.
“It’s testament to the hard work and dedication of all our staff.”

Results are what counts, not just getting thru processes. They need some good management consultants.
Use the labels in the right column to find what you want. Or you can go thru them one by one, there are only 29,112 posts. Searching is done in the search box in upper left corner. I blog on anything to do with stroke.DO NOT DO ANYTHING SUGGESTED HERE AS I AM NOT MEDICALLY TRAINED, YOUR DOCTOR IS, LISTEN TO THEM. BUT I BET THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET YOU 100% RECOVERED. I DON'T EITHER, BUT HAVE PLENTY OF QUESTIONS FOR YOUR DOCTOR TO ANSWER.
Changing stroke rehab and research worldwide now.Time is Brain! trillions and trillions of neurons that DIE each day because there are NO effective hyperacute therapies besides tPA(only 12% effective). I have 523 posts on hyperacute therapy, enough for researchers to spend decades proving them out. These are my personal ideas and blog on stroke rehabilitation and stroke research. Do not attempt any of these without checking with your medical provider. Unless you join me in agitating, when you need these therapies they won't be there.
What this blog is for:
My blog is not to help survivors recover, it is to have the 10 million yearly stroke survivors light fires underneath their doctors, stroke hospitals and stroke researchers to get stroke solved. 100% recovery. The stroke medical world is completely failing at that goal, they don't even have it as a goal. Shortly after getting out of the hospital and getting NO information on the process or protocols of stroke rehabilitation and recovery I started searching on the internet and found that no other survivor received useful information. This is an attempt to cover all stroke rehabilitation information that should be readily available to survivors so they can talk with informed knowledge to their medical staff. It lays out what needs to be done to get stroke survivors closer to 100% recovery. It's quite disgusting that this information is not available from every stroke association and doctors group.
