Changing stroke rehab and research worldwide now.Time is Brain! trillions and trillions of neurons that DIE each day because there are NO effective hyperacute therapies besides tPA(only 12% effective). I have 523 posts on hyperacute therapy, enough for researchers to spend decades proving them out. These are my personal ideas and blog on stroke rehabilitation and stroke research. Do not attempt any of these without checking with your medical provider. Unless you join me in agitating, when you need these therapies they won't be there.

What this blog is for:

My blog is not to help survivors recover, it is to have the 10 million yearly stroke survivors light fires underneath their doctors, stroke hospitals and stroke researchers to get stroke solved. 100% recovery. The stroke medical world is completely failing at that goal, they don't even have it as a goal. Shortly after getting out of the hospital and getting NO information on the process or protocols of stroke rehabilitation and recovery I started searching on the internet and found that no other survivor received useful information. This is an attempt to cover all stroke rehabilitation information that should be readily available to survivors so they can talk with informed knowledge to their medical staff. It lays out what needs to be done to get stroke survivors closer to 100% recovery. It's quite disgusting that this information is not available from every stroke association and doctors group.

Foot problems

At the beginning of 2015 I made a resolution I would walk 10,000 steps a day to lose the extra 40 lbs I gained by moving to MI. Numerous problems arose;
1.  That lasted for three weeks when I started getting pains right underneath the ankle bone on the outside of my left foot. By March I was able to start up again.
2.  The pain this time moved forward 3 inches and over to the top of my foot, maybe two weeks of decent walking.
3.  The pain this time moved forward  over to the top of my foot, maybe two weeks of decent walking.The final tipping point of stopping was walking in dress shoe loafers with absolutely no arch support for 6,000 steps.
4.  The week long Mediterranean cruise in April  saw me put in 162,109 steps; 77.55 miles and lost my left big toenail due to bruising when my foot slid forward in the toe box.
5.  By June finally got going again, this time the pain moved to between the third and fourth toes.
6.  As the big toenail came in, it eventually stated ingrowing and my daily walks caused bleeding. Not much pain, so I never stopped walking, This was most of October.
7.  In November managed a 12 day run of 10,000 steps until I got pain in the big toe joint where it joins the foot.  One day I got home at 10:30 but needed another 5000 steps to get to 10,000 for the day. No problem, got it done in one hour, big toe was hurting but kept going anyway. One hour later went to bed, barely made it because of the shooting pains. Waiting once again for the pain and swelling to subside before starting again. Currently up to 3,351,135 steps since July 2013
All of these foot problems are directly related to spasticity because it is causing the foot to rotate to the left by maybe10-15 degrees. And since there is no fucking cure anywhere in the world for spasticity I may be permanently unable to ever attempt running. This is so simple to figure out. A database of physical problems entered by physical and occupational therapists hosted by our fucking failures of stroke associations. Then any solutions are entered. Publicly available to all including survivors.
