Changing stroke rehab and research worldwide now.Time is Brain! trillions and trillions of neurons that DIE each day because there are NO effective hyperacute therapies besides tPA(only 12% effective). I have 523 posts on hyperacute therapy, enough for researchers to spend decades proving them out. These are my personal ideas and blog on stroke rehabilitation and stroke research. Do not attempt any of these without checking with your medical provider. Unless you join me in agitating, when you need these therapies they won't be there.

What this blog is for:

My blog is not to help survivors recover, it is to have the 10 million yearly stroke survivors light fires underneath their doctors, stroke hospitals and stroke researchers to get stroke solved. 100% recovery. The stroke medical world is completely failing at that goal, they don't even have it as a goal. Shortly after getting out of the hospital and getting NO information on the process or protocols of stroke rehabilitation and recovery I started searching on the internet and found that no other survivor received useful information. This is an attempt to cover all stroke rehabilitation information that should be readily available to survivors so they can talk with informed knowledge to their medical staff. It lays out what needs to be done to get stroke survivors closer to 100% recovery. It's quite disgusting that this information is not available from every stroke association and doctors group.

Advanced Certifications, Personalized Care: Inside EAMC’s Stroke Rehab Program

This is the whole problem in stroke enumerated in one word; 'care'; NOT RECOVERY!

My god, anyone in the business world would be fired immediately for managing or caring about something rather than delivering RESULTS. And this is why this is a complete fucking failure! This does nothing to guarantee recovery for survivors!

If your hospital is touting 'care' it means they are a failure because they are delivering 'care'; NOT RECOVERY! I would never go to a failed hospital! Anytime I see the word 'care' associated with a stroke hospital; I immediately think fucking failure!

YOU have to get involved and change this failure mindset of 'care' to 100% RECOVERY! Survivors want RECOVERY, NOT 'CARE'!

I see nothing here that states going for 100% recovery! You need to create EXACT PROTOCOLS FOR THAT!

ASK SURVIVORS WHAT THEY WANT, THEY'LL NEVER RESPOND 'CARE'! This tyranny of low expectations has to be completely rooted out of any stroke conversation! I wouldn't go there because of such incompetency as not having 100% recovery protocols!

RECOVERY IS THE ONLY GOAL IN STROKE!

GET THERE!

Advanced Certifications, Personalized Care: Inside EAMC’s Stroke Rehab Program

When a stroke turns life upside down, recovery depends on more than determination—it takes a team of specialists with the highest levels of training.

At East Alabama Medical Center (EAMC), the stroke rehabilitation team consists of therapists whose advanced stroke certifications set them apart, combining nationally recognized expertise with compassionate, hands-on care(NOT RECOVERY!) to help patients regain independence and confidence every step of the way.

Stewart Jackson, director of Rehab Services at EAMC, believes that the department’s emphasis on credentialed care(NOT RECOVERY!) is paramount in ensuring stroke patients receive the highest possible care(NOT RECOVERY!).

“We have a department goal to add three new stroke certifications annually, which does not happen without alignment from everyone in this building,” Jackson said. “We want to set the bar for stroke care(NOT RECOVERY!) in the state of Alabama.”

Rehabilitation is a critical component of stroke recovery, providing patients with the tools and support they need to regain strength, mobility, and independence. Through a combination of physical therapyoccupational therapy and speech therapy, the rehab team helps individuals relearn essential skills, improve coordination, and adapt to any lasting impairments.

Within the Rehab Services Department at EAMC, nine individuals hold stroke-specific certifications including four Neurodevelopmental Treatment certifications and five Stroke and Rehabilitation Specialist certifications. These credentials reflect advanced training beyond standard licensure, demonstrating that the team has mastered specialized techniques for restoring movement, function and independence in stroke patients.

“If you have a stroke and come to East Alabama Health, you will be evaluated and treated by rehabilitation professionals who’ve completed advanced hands-on training; that’s a guarantee,” Jackson stated.

EAMC has earned the American Heart Association’s “Get With The Guidelines – Stroke Gold Plus” designation, a mark of excellence in research-based, high-quality stroke care(NOT RECOVERY!). That standard of excellence carries through to the hospital’s rehabilitation team, where certified specialists work alongside neurologists and nurses to provide a seamless, comprehensive recovery experience for every stroke patient.

“We are led by such a great stroke team that values our input and actively collaborates with us in the decision-making process regarding what is the best pathway toward improvement for our patients,” Jackson said. “The collaboration between our stroke providers—Dr. Nojan Valadi and nurse practitioner Jayme Gardner—the nursing staff, and our therapists is where our strength comes from. Everyone plays such a crucial role.”

From therapists to nurses, every member of EAMC’s stroke team brings specialized knowledge and coordinated care(NOT RECOVERY!), ensuring patients benefit from a seamless, expert-driven treatment and recovery experience.
