Use the labels in the right column to find what you want. Or you can go thru them one by one, there are only 29,112 posts. Searching is done in the search box in upper left corner. I blog on anything to do with stroke.DO NOT DO ANYTHING SUGGESTED HERE AS I AM NOT MEDICALLY TRAINED, YOUR DOCTOR IS, LISTEN TO THEM. BUT I BET THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET YOU 100% RECOVERED. I DON'T EITHER, BUT HAVE PLENTY OF QUESTIONS FOR YOUR DOCTOR TO ANSWER.
Changing stroke rehab and research worldwide now.Time is Brain! trillions and trillions of neurons that DIE each day because there are NO effective hyperacute therapies besides tPA(only 12% effective). I have 523 posts on hyperacute therapy, enough for researchers to spend decades proving them out. These are my personal ideas and blog on stroke rehabilitation and stroke research. Do not attempt any of these without checking with your medical provider. Unless you join me in agitating, when you need these therapies they won't be there.
What this blog is for:
My blog is not to help survivors recover, it is to have the 10 million yearly stroke survivors light fires underneath their doctors, stroke hospitals and stroke researchers to get stroke solved. 100% recovery. The stroke medical world is completely failing at that goal, they don't even have it as a goal. Shortly after getting out of the hospital and getting NO information on the process or protocols of stroke rehabilitation and recovery I started searching on the internet and found that no other survivor received useful information. This is an attempt to cover all stroke rehabilitation information that should be readily available to survivors so they can talk with informed knowledge to their medical staff. It lays out what needs to be done to get stroke survivors closer to 100% recovery. It's quite disgusting that this information is not available from every stroke association and doctors group.

40 Habits to Reduce Your Risk of Dementia After 40
Full details at the link.
1. Get some natural sunlight. One hour biking or two hour walks.
reading emails and writing blog posts.
4. Learn to play an instrument. After 40 I learned the saxophone and piano, neither of which I will probably ever play again. My doctor had absolutely nothing to recover my hand, of course he had nothing for any part of my recovery.
7. Practice yoga. Nope.
8. Meditate. Nope.
9. Listen to music. Long road tips are good for going thru dozens of CDs.
10. Learn a new language. I think I learned only one new programming language after 40, PL1.
me.
12. Enjoy regular workouts. Yep, biking, walking.
13. Start gardening. Not unless I want to start a guerilla plot of marijuana in the natural area next to me.
14. Log at least seven hours of sleep at night. Getting there.
15. Lose those extra pounds. Lost 20 already that I gained post stoke, 15 left to go.
16. And then try to maintain a consistent weight. I've been consistently at the current level for the past two years.
17. Get your fasting blood sugar checked. I'm sure it was checked via my last blood test, don't know what it was. Doctor wasn't concerned.
18. Spend time with your friends. COVID-19 blew that out of the water.
19. Brush your teeth. Yep.
20. Lower your cholesterol. Yep.
21. Drink more coffee. I do 12 cups a day, one pot. A friend wanted me to clarify this because when I use one of his mugs it holds 5 cups as measured by the coffee pot lines, so not 12 mugs of coffee.
23. Try a beet latte. Never, tried drinking beet juice once, even diluted 9 to 1 it was undrinkable.
24. Eat more mushrooms. Magic ones?
27. Make a Facebook account. Never use mine.
29. Load up on red fruits. Red wine is good for this.
30. Limit your alcohol intake. But I'm supposed to load up on red fruits that you just suggested in #29.
31. And when you do drink, enjoy a glass of red wine. A friend gave me a glass that holds a whole bottle of wine. Is that what you mean?
32. Eat more salmon and tuna. Salmon two nights a week.
34. Be cognizant about the medications you take. OK.
35. Always wear a helmet. Yep
36. Stop drinking soda. Quit that years ago.
38. Quit smoking. Never did.
39. Get your ears checked. On my list for next Dr. appt. along with new shingles vaccine.
40. Adhere to the Mediterranean diet. But you just said Keto in #33.
