Well what the fuck are you going to do with this information to get survivors recovered? Prognosis is totally fucking useless to survivors.
Association between serum matrix metalloproteinase-9 and poor prognosis in acute ischemic stroke patients: The role of dyslipidemia
This is the first study investigating the prognostic impact of matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) among ischemic stroke patients stratified by dyslipidemia status. MMP-9 levels were assessed for 2,977 patients with acute ischemic stroke from 26 participating hospitals across China, and clinical outcome results were collected within one year of the ischemic stroke. According to results, increased MMP-9 has been correlated with poor prognosis only in patients with dyslipidemia within one-year after stroke, indicating that the prognostic importance of MMP-9 is modified by dyslipidemia status of patients with ischaemic stroke.
