The decade of the brain

On July 17, 1990, President George Bush, through a Proclamation (6158), declared 1990-1999 as the 'Decade of the Brain'. This was prompted by an earlier document prepared by the National Advisory Council of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) in 1988, entitled 'Decade of the brain; Answer through scientific research'.
