Has anyone directly died from a stroke?

Think about this. Strokes cause brain damage and death of neurons. That damage and death is what causes your problems if you survive.  You die because too many of your neurons are dead or compromised. Saying you died from a stroke is as stupid as when dying from old age was still allowed as a cause on a death certificate. Until we get this inaccuracy changed we can't determine cause and effect. What brain damage exactly described caused that person to die? But laziness rules and our craptastic stroke associations don't do anything useful to find out or change this stupid practice. Its the same thing as saying someone died from a gunshot wound, no,  you died from damage to the organs and loss of blood.
