It has been almost 10 years, has your incompetent doctor and stroke hospital done anything with this? My definition of incompetence is not following AND implementing research. Your hospital might just be following the status quo and considers that good enough. IT IS NOT!
Do you prefer your incompetence NOT KNOWING OR NOT DOING?
Oops, I'm not playing by the polite rules of Dale Carnegie, 'How to Win Friends and Influence People'.
Politeness will never solve anything in stroke. Yes, I'm a bomb thrower and proud of it. Someday a stroke "leader" will ream me out for being truthful by making them look bad, I look forward to that day.

Abstract
Blood flow in the brain is regulated by neurons and astrocytes.
Knowledge of how these cells control blood flow is crucial for
understanding how neural computation is powered, for interpreting
functional imaging scans of brains, and for developing treatments for
neurological disorders. It is now recognized that
neurotransmitter-mediated signalling has a key role in regulating
cerebral blood flow, that much of this control is mediated by
astrocytes, that oxygen modulates blood flow regulation, and that blood
flow may be controlled by capillaries as well as by arterioles. These
conceptual shifts in our understanding of cerebral blood flow control
have important implications for the development of new therapeutic
approaches.
